Fashion Blogger Post Inspiration

As a blogger I know how annoying it can be when you can’t think of blog post ideas to publish on your site; it can make you feel untalented and you can start to really lose confidence, but no fear, I’ve compiled a list of lots of different blog post ideas for fashion  bloggers, but I’m going to create similar lists for beauty and lifestyle bloggers . If I’ve done my own version of the post I’ll link it so that it may act as even more inspiration. Happy blogging!

Pinafores

Pinafores, or dungaree dresses, are a super cute way to dress this autumn/winter. They’re no longer just for little girls, I know I had a fair few when I was little, but it’s now also socially acceptable for grown ups to wear them too (and look stylish!), which in my eyes is fantastic. I’ve always loved pinafores and with corduroy coming back into fashion in a major way it’s great to be able to incorporate both styles into an outfit and wear them together.

Green Pinafore

I actually own this bottle green corduroy pinafore and it’s become a staple piece in my wardrobe over the past couple of weeks. As it comes in a variety of colours (see here for burnt orange, light grey, baby pink and charcoal grey) there’s a colour that will suit everyone’s wardrobe. It’s a really affordable way of buying into the trend (they’re only just over £7!) which is great if you’re not sure it’s a look you want to invest in. I would pair this green pinafore with a floral blouse, this one is perfect as the detail is across the shoulders and sleeves so that it isn’t covered by the pinafore. To keep warm at this time of year I would add tights, preferably black tights, and finish off the look with a pair of black Chelsea boots (these are on sale for only £17.24!); see my other top picks for ankle boots here.

Black Pinafore

This black denim pinafore is a much safer option for most people’s wardrobes as it is a very classic colour and it can be changed to suit many different styles. Personally I’d pair it with a detailed, long sleeved top, like this floral one, to keep me warm but create a classy vibe. Again I’d pair with black tights, as they keep you warm, and add black flats this time; these black loafers are smart, yet still pretty.

Outfit Diaries – Rachel’s Birthday Party

318A6F45-2890-4795-9D04-42461A3BEDCA

It was another of my friends’ 18th birthday this weekend so I got all dressed up for her party; this outfit is actually quite summery for this time of year but as we were inside, and parties tend to get pretty hot, I thought it was for the best. I’d just like to say happy birthday to Rachel before I get into this post; I hope you had a fabulous birthday!

I decided to wear the sheer lace top I recently picked up from New Look (also seen in another blog post here) and layered it with a white vest top. It’s such a pretty and delicate top, I think it really adds an extra special touch to any outfit and immediately makes anything look like occasion wear.

I paired the lace top with high waisted nude coloured shorts which I wore all summer and have been on my blog many times (here). Instead of wearing them as substitutes for denim shorts, like I did in summer, I dressed them up and wore them as a more formal pair of shorts; I think it creates a nice, classy effect.

To finish off the look I wore my white block heels, which have been on my blog so many times I’ve actually lost count, but they’re amazingly comfortable and perfect for dancing in all night. I also added my staple Pandora pieces; my charm bracelet, my bow ring and my princess ring.

Top – New Look

Shorts – ASOS

Heels – Boohoo

Jewellery – Pandora

Please wish Rachel a happy birthday in the comments!

Outfit Diaries – A Christmassy Theatre Trip

DA79A470-C928-4FEC-85F4-03969424C1C6

Christmas came early to Birmingham this year as Nativity The Musical came to The REP Theatre for a festive extravaganza; as fans of the incredible Nativity movies, my family were incredibly excited to see the performance and spend the night singing along to the show’s hit songs.

To get in the festive spirit I wrapped up warm and wore my pearl embellished jumper (alternative here) paired with a denim skirt with button details up the front. I braved the cold with bare legs so that I could wear my peep toe cream boots, which complimented the cream jumper. These shoes, although they do have a peep toe detail, are perfect for autumn/winter if you’re willing to have bare legs or wear skin coloured tights as they’re incredibly comfortable and pretty (and down to only £12!).

My beautiful pink Ted Baker bag had its first outing yesterday and it was the perfect addition to this outfit, which I’m sure will become a staple outfit through the winter period. The pink in the bag set off the pink scalloped edge coat (alternative here) and the rose gold jewellery that I wore. I went for pearl earrings (alternative here), my Pandora charm bracelet, bow ring and princess ring to add the finishing touch to the outfit.

Are you going to see any shows this winter? Tell me in the comments below!

Ankle Boots – An Autumnal Necessity

Save/Splurge On Winter Coats

Winter coats can be very expensive investments sometimes and it can be hard to afford just one coat a year, let alone buying multiple. I like to think that I’m pretty good at bargain hunting so I thought I’d help a girl out and find some high street/cheaper  alternatives to more pricier coats. Hopefully there’s a coat for everyone’s budget here; to shop the pieces just click on the link.

This first grey woollen coat by Club Monaco is a very sophisticated style with a wide lapel and tailored finish. The light heather grey colour is very pretty and doesn’t look as harsh, in comparison to a darker grey. The second grey coat from New Look is almost identical to the Club Monaco one but comes in at £521 cheaper! It has incredibly similar design details as the Club Monaco one such as the low pockets and wide collar, but for a much, much lower price.

Outfit Diaries – Bonfire Night

I love bonfire night and for the past couple of years I’ve spent it with a small circle of my closest friends, which make it even more special. Each year I love to wrap up warm and head out to watch the sky explode with colour; it’s such a magical night with the sky so colourful!

The Perfect Nude Lip

5BC73503-CF2C-44ED-94A2-4FBBEA0FF866

A nude lip is a staple lip all year round but when it comes to autumn I tend to go for a slightly darker, more dusty pink lip and this one from L’Oreal Paris is perfect. It has a deeper undertone than most pinky nudes I own so it looks more autumnal, whereas I feel that lots of other pink lipsticks are more suitable for spring/summer. The formula of this lipstick is very silky and wearable and combined with the lip liner will last you all day.

Shop the lipstick here and the lip liner here.

Clothes That Remind Me Of Josie

1.jpg

As a continuation of my posts on Josie Fear (otherwise known as FashionMumblr) as my style icon I’ve made a collection of clothes which remind me of her. She has an incredibly feminine and classy style, which has become a major inspiration for my own style, and she never fails to look amazing. In autumn and winter time Josie dresses very snuggly and warm whilst wearing neutral colours so I’ve picked out pieces which suit this style; all the pieces I’ve selected are shoppable, just click on the links.

Sequins

Who doesn’t love to be all sparkly? You’re lying if you say you don’t love dressing up in a sparkly dress and feeling like an actual princess. Sequins are back in this season, so you can wear them without feeling like a six year old who’s off to a birthday party. The more sparkle, the better! I’ve picked out my favourite pieces that I’ve seen and of course all the products I mention are shoppable, just click on the links.

Sequin Dress

This is the dress I’m thinking of buying to be my New Years outfit – I know it’s only November but you can never be too prepared after all! It’s so sparkly and festive, it’s great for celebration. I would pair this dress with black stilettos, as they add a classy vibe, and a black clutch bag to match. This clutch bag has a diamante, sequin effect on the bow which ties in with the detail on the dress (double the sequins!).

Sequins 1

This sequin top is the perfect piece if you’re not feeling throwing yourself into the deep end with the sequin trend. It’s a subtler way to incorporate it into your outfit, whilst still being incredibly sparkly. I would pair this with a leather look skirt to create a rather edgy look and some black patent leather ankle boots. These are sock boots, which are incredibly on trend, so I’d definitely recommend buying yourself a pair.

Sequin Boots

How insane are these gorgeous rainbow sequined boots? They’re very jazzy (yes I’m aware saying jazzy makes me sound like a mom trying to be cool, but that’s what they are!) and they’re a really fun way to get into the sequin trend. I’d pair these with a black t-shirt dress (also comes in petite), I really like this one with the collar detail as it is a very feminine addition to the dress and suits my girly style a lot more than a simpler t-shirt dress, which can sometimes be rather casual. To finish the look I’d add a silver clutch bag to match the metallic sparkle of the shoes.

Do you own any sequin pieces? Tell me in the comments below!
