The Perfect Nude Lip

A nude lip is a staple lip all year round but when it comes to autumn I tend to go for a slightly darker, more dusty pink lip and this one from L’Oreal Paris is perfect. It has a deeper undertone than most pinky nudes I own so it looks more autumnal, whereas I feel that lots of other pink lipsticks are more suitable for spring/summer. The formula of this lipstick is very silky and wearable and combined with the lip liner will last you all day.

How I Make My Skin Feel (Soap &) Glorious

First of all, can we just appreciate that pun in the post title? Soap & Glory product names are more than often puns or a play on words so I thought I’d channel that idea and create my own, so there you go.

My skin has been very tired and dehydrated recently, so when I saw that this face mask was perfect for dull and lacklustre skin I was very excited. It was just what I needed to get my skin back on track.

The Reality Of Blogging

…when you’re broke and can’t hire a photographer. That was the full intended title for this post anyway, but I thought that might be a tad too long. In this post I’m going to be talking about what life is really like for a small scale blogger when I can’t just splash the cash and immediately follow every trend or hire a professional photographer to take my outfit photos.

Hydrating Skincare

Like many people who suffer, or have suffered with acne in the past, I immediately presumed that I had oily skin as my skin used to be so greasy and aggravated. For years I invested in products designed for oily skin and didn’t particularly see any results. It was only when I ended up using the Garnier Skin Active Rose Water Botanical Day Cream, because my sister let me borrow hers when my old moisturiser had run out, that I noticed a massive difference.

It was as if my skin had changed over night – it was instantly smoother and more hydrated. This moisturiser showed me that I have dry and sensitive skin, something which I didn’t realise before. I completely recommend this wonderful moisturiser/day cream as not only does it feel amazing on the skin it also smells heavenly. It literally smells of roses!

How I Embrace My Pale Skin

DSCF1530

I’m one of those people who is almost always the lightest shade of foundation, who can look washed out even in white and gets burnt to a crisp the minute I step one foot out in sunshine. I’m as pale as can be and in a society where having a tan is so glorified it’s often hard to remember that my pale skin is beautiful too.

The Iconic Red Lip

Red Lipstick

Red lipstick can sometimes be scary to wear out on a daily basis as it feels very flamboyant and dressy but I’m a strong believer that it can be worn in a casual way. Red lipstick will always look pretty and classy and as we begin to transition into autumn, where darker lips are all the rage, a red lipstick is a good thing to include in your daily makeup routine.

Chanel Inspo

For me, my favourite red lipstick is Bourjois Rouge Edition Lipstick in shade 13. It has a blue undertone which suits my complexion, compared to lots of other red lipsticks which have a more orange tone. It also goes on incredibly smoothly and stays put all day. I love it!

This post is not sponsored by Bourjois I honestly just love this shade and I think you will too.

You can buy your own lipstick here.

Sorry this post seems a bit rushed, I’m going on holiday later this week and I’ve been very busy so this had to be written very quickly. My longer, more extensive posts will be back to normal tomorrow!

What To Do All Summer

For us Brits the summer holidays are about half way through and elsewhere in the world people have been off school for weeks. Weeks off school sound great (just think of all the lie ins) but all that free time can get boring. It is getting to that point in the holiday where it can be hard to think of things to do to fill up all the time so I thought I’d suggest a few free or very cheap ideas.

Have a picnic

Having a picnic is a cute, cheap idea. Arrange to meet up with friends and tell everyone to bring one piece of food each – soon enough you’ll have a whole picnic spread for next to nothing!

Go for a walk

Going for a walk is a great way to explore your local area as well as being a fab way to get exercise. I personally love going walking in my local park as I’m a fan of walking in nature but you could also go for a walk in a more urban place; go and explore your city!

Go to the cinema

Going to the cinema has been a classic meet up idea for decades and nothing can compare to watching a film with your friends on the big screen. Cinema tickets, if you get offers, can be cheap or alternatively you could set up your own ‘cinema’ at home. Choose a movie, invite your friends round, buy a couple of bags of popcorn and you’re sorted!

Visit another town

There’s often hidden gems mere miles from where we live which we spend our lives unaware of. Research into beautiful places in and around your local towns and cities – you’ll be surprised by what you find; there’s a treasure trove of beautiful places to discover out there.

What’s your favourite thing to do in the summer? Tell me in the comments below!
