Why Being Sad Is Okay Sometimes

I didn’t post yesterday and the reason why is because I had a bad day. To be honest, admitting that is actually a bit scary because I swore to myself that I wouldn’t let my mood affect my blogging, but setting that impossible task for myself is something I need to overcome. Of course, bad days happen. Of course, your mood affects your life. I’ve been putting off writing this all day, in fact, I was going to leave it and start afresh on Monday but sharing this kind of stuff is what keeps me a real blogger. Only sharing the edited highlights of my life where I’m showing off a new dress or lipstick isn’t what my life is like on a daily basis.

Being sad is a normal part of life and pretending that the bad days don’t happen isn’t an effective way of dealing with them. Accepting their existence and working your way through them is the only way to a happy life. I don’t want to pretend I’m happy all the time, because the truth is that I’m not, sometimes I find life impossibly hard and pretending like I don’t is like pretending to be someone I’m not. I never want to do that on here, I want to showcase the real me.

Next time you’re having a bad day, remember it’s a normal part of life. There has to be a little rain to make a rainbow!
