Why Beige Isn’t Boring

1

I love beige. Like I love it. It’s such a versatile colour which is perfect for autumn when we turn more towards warmer tones such as brown, beige and red. Somehow, beige has become to be portrayed as a boring colour which washes people out and looks bland but I definitely beg to differ. I think it is a very classy, dignified colour which looks great when it’s worn right.

Corduroy

My new favourite fashion obsession (which I haven’t actually managed to get my hands on yet…) is corduroy. If you’re up to date with my blog and have read my October Wishlist then you’ll know that I’m on the look for lots of cord pieces for this autumn season. Corduroy is bang on trend at the minute and I’ve seen it popping up all over the place, I think it’s definitely a trend to keep your eye on.

October Wishlist

It’s October which means it’s officially autumn, the nights are drawing in and everywhere the trees are turning red and coats are coming out. I love wrapping up warm and I’m excited to see all the Autumn trends coming out in everyone’s style. So what am I looking for this month?

Pink corduroy pinafore

I tried on a pink cord pinafore recently in Forever 21 but unfortunately it didn’t fit. Since then I’ve been determined to find one and recreate the look which I fell in love with in Forever 21. I was planning to pair it with a high neck, ruffled blouse and hopefully that look can still come to fruition!

Pink cord skirt

Can you tell I’m obsessed with cord this season? Especially pink cord, of course. I’ve seen this look on other bloggers and I think it’s a very pretty style which I hope to recreate. I love this cord trend as it’s very vintage.

So, what did I manage to find from my September wishlist?

I’m still searching for my perfect suede jacket as I can’t find one in the perfect dusky pink shade, but I refuse to give up! There are suede jackets all over the shops at the minute and I can’t wait to pick one up. I did however manage to find a black roll neck top and I’m sure I’ll pick up more in the near future.

Why Being Sad Is Okay Sometimes

I didn’t post yesterday and the reason why is because I had a bad day. To be honest, admitting that is actually a bit scary because I swore to myself that I wouldn’t let my mood affect my blogging, but setting that impossible task for myself is something I need to overcome. Of course, bad days happen. Of course, your mood affects your life. I’ve been putting off writing this all day, in fact, I was going to leave it and start afresh on Monday but sharing this kind of stuff is what keeps me a real blogger. Only sharing the edited highlights of my life where I’m showing off a new dress or lipstick isn’t what my life is like on a daily basis.

Being sad is a normal part of life and pretending that the bad days don’t happen isn’t an effective way of dealing with them. Accepting their existence and working your way through them is the only way to a happy life. I don’t want to pretend I’m happy all the time, because the truth is that I’m not, sometimes I find life impossibly hard and pretending like I don’t is like pretending to be someone I’m not. I never want to do that on here, I want to showcase the real me.

Next time you’re having a bad day, remember it’s a normal part of life. There has to be a little rain to make a rainbow!

Outfit Diaries – My 18th Birthday Party

IMG_8078

Sorry for the lack of blog post yesterday – I was absolutely exhausted and couldn’t muster up enough energy to write a post and to be honest with you, my eyes are closing typing this. I thought I’d update you on what I was wearing at my 18th birthday party which happened on Saturday 23rd September.

I wore this gorgeous dress from Chi Chi London, which I got through ASOS, and I’m head over heels in love with it. It has delicate lace sleeves (which don’t pop up on to your shoulders!), sheer neckline and a beautiful full lace skirt. I felt like a princess!

I paired this dress with my classic white block heels from Boohoo and a few special pieces of jewellery that I got for my birthday. My Pandora rose gold heart clasp charm bracelet, rose gold tiara princess ring and rose gold bow ring. They added the final touches to a very pretty, fancy outfit.

I’d just like to say thank you to everyone who came to my party who made it a great success and for everyone online who wished me a happy birthday, it’s much appreciated. Now, once I’ve recovered from all the partying I’ll be getting back into the swing of things with my blogging.

The Start Of A Fresh New Me?

For me, birthdays are a very scary time. For someone who is terrified of growing up turning 18 seemed terrifying so I figured the best way to approach it would be to find positive sides of it. One way I decided to do this was to see it as a fresh new beginning, which allows me to almost make new year’s resolutions and improve myself as I grow older.

I’ve had the typical question of, ‘how does it feel to be 18’ and usually I don’t feel any different but this year I’ve actually felt a slight change. I’m determined to remain a little more positive and make this year a happy and successful year. Being happy is a very important part of life and the chance to start again is the best way to reassess your goals.

I know this is a short blog post but I just wanted to put this idea out there and share with you how I’m dealing with my birthday.
